Lab-grown diamonds are basically manufactured in conditions designed to mimic the formation of natural diamonds t. As a result, these diamonds possess the same features and qualities as natural diamonds.


DIAMONDS SIMULANTS FORMATION


A stimulant is defined as anything that simulates or imitates. On the other hand, diamond simulants are deliberately designed to look like genuine diamonds, but their chemical makeup is radically different compared to lab-made diamonds or naturally mined diamonds. Cubic zirconia, popularly known as(CZ), is one of the most common diamond alternatives created from a crystalized version of zirconium oxide. Moissanite, another diamond simulant, is a more durable and less expensive alternative to Labor Natural Diamonds is made from crystal carbide.  At the atomic level, these gemstones are entirely different chemically. 


HARDNESS

Diamonds are the hardest natural substance, with a hardness score of 10 on the Mohs scale. Lab-made diamonds also score 10 on the Moh scale since they have the same physical attributes as natural diamonds. On the other hand, Moissanite has a score of 9.25 on the Moh scale, which is reputably fair enough for daily wear, whereas cubic zirconia scores 8.5. While these figures are not insignificant, Lab diamond simulants are more susceptible to damage than genuine diamonds.

 

BRILLIANCE

CLARITY


Clarity grade, another of the four C's of diamond grading, corresponds to the number of flaws in the stone. Diamonds, both natural and artificial, can have a variety of flaws(inclusions). On the other hand, Cubic zirconia is flawless, while Moissanite mostly has a medium clarity rating.


CUT


The cut grade of any diamond relates to how well it is proportioned. Depending on the competence of the cutter, each stone can have a different cut grade. The cut grade significantly impacts how a diamond interacts with light.

 

CARAT

The final of the four C's relates to the carat of the diamond. Diamond simulants and lab-made diamonds can have any carat weight.
