Before SARATTI had its name, there was already a life shaped by gemstones, jewellery and the discipline of making things well. The knowledge came first. The meaning came later.
And when it did, it changed what jewelry could mean.
In 2016, the founder established Modern Gem Jewelry — building experience in gemstones, sourcing, design and the making of fine jewelry. It was here that an eye for exceptional stones became a deeper understanding of proportion, craftsmanship and the responsibility that comes with creating something intended to last.
They had been given to the founder’s father. Modest in material, they became invaluable through the person who wore them and the life they came to represent. Their worth could no longer be understood by metal, craftsmanship or price alone.
After his father passed away, those same rings changed completely.
The rings themselves had not changed. Their meaning had.
They had become irreplaceable
It witnesses proposals and marriages. Achievements and beginnings. Ordinary days that later become precious. Over time, a jewel can gather memory, emotion and history until what it holds becomes more valuable than what it is made from.
The craft already existed. The loss revealed what the craft could carry.
It showed that a jeweler cannot always know, on the day a piece is created, how much that piece may one day mean. The only thing within the jeweler's control is whether the object is worthy when that meaning arrives.
The founder came to understand that creating beautiful jewelry was only part of the responsibility. The finest gemstone and most accomplished craftsmanship create the object. The life lived with it creates something more. That idea would eventually reshape the house itself.
Modern Gem Jewelry® built the craft. SARATTI gave that craft a deeper language.
In 2023, Modern Gem Jewelry became SARATTI — carrying forward the gemstone expertise, craftsmanship and knowledge built since 2016, while giving them a deeper purpose. The new name reflected a house increasingly defined not only by what it creates, but by what those creations may come to mean.
SARATTI carried forward everything the founder had built since 2016 — gemstone knowledge, sourcing, design and craftsmanship — but with a clearer philosophy behind it.
The craft remained. The purpose became clearer.
We can seek an exceptional gemstone. Perfect its proportions. Entrust it to experienced hands. But once the finished jewel leaves ours, another kind of value begins — shaped by the person who wears it, the moments it witnesses and the memories it comes to hold.

SARATTI
The name SARATTI takes its inspiration from Sārathi — an ancient Sanskrit word for a charioteer: one entrusted to guide the journey.
That meaning reflects the role the founder believed a jewelry house should play. Not to overwhelm with choice or decide what should matter, but to guide with knowledge, judgment and understanding — from the gemstone chosen to the piece ultimately created.
