Gemstone $10,650.00

This 1.64 carat Natural Madagascar Sapphire presents a strongly saturated vivid blue colour, with GRS identifying the colour as type “royal blue.” Its face-up appearance carries a medium-deep blue tone with concentrated saturation, while alternating brighter and darker facet reflections give the colour visible depth rather than a flat appearance.

The gemstone has a clipped-corner octagonal outline presented commercially as an Asscher, while the GRS report records the physical shape as octagonal and the cutting as step/step (4). The geometric facet arrangement produces structured reflections across the face of the stone, giving it the architectural character associated with this style of step cutting without making unsupported claims about clarity.

At 1.64 carats and 6.04 × 5.66 × 5.01 mm, the sapphire presents a compact near-square face-up proportion with substantial depth. Its defined geometry and vivid royal blue colour make it particularly suitable as the centre stone of an engagement ring, three-stone composition, refined pendant, or bespoke fine-jewellery design.

September Birthstone

Sapphire is the traditional birthstone for September and is also associated with the 5th and 45th wedding anniversaries. Its broad range of naturally occurring colours has made sapphire an established gemstone within fine jewellery across many design styles.

Design Invitation

The strong geometry of this Asscher presentation pairs naturally with platinum or white gold for crisp contrast against its royal blue colour. Diamond side stones could create a more formal centre-stone composition, while a restrained solitaire setting would allow the clipped-corner outline and step-cut structure to remain prominent. The sapphire may be acquired loose or developed through SARATTI’s bespoke service.

Your gemstone is set into the design you choose. Every pairing is reviewed by a specialist before production begins.

Why we chose this stone

For royal blue at 1.64-carat.

Consider this sapphire if you want Royal Blue to read with presence rather than delicacy. At 1.64-carat, the colour has enough scale to feel substantial, while the oval outline keeps the stone composed.

Before you decide

Questions worth asking.

Is this the exact gemstone I will receive — and can I see more of it?

Yes. The gemstone shown on this page is the individual stone you are considering — not a representative image from a parcel.

We photograph and film the actual stone and do everything possible to show its color, proportions and character faithfully. Even so, gemstones can respond differently to daylight, warm interior light and different screens.

If you are uncertain, we can provide additional photographs or video and, where useful, reshoot the stone under different lighting or from another angle before you decide.

Can I confirm the gemstone is still available before I proceed?

Of course.

Send us the product link or reference and our concierge can confirm availability before you proceed.

For an important purchase, we would rather confirm first than have you make a decision around a stone that has already been spoken for.

How do I know which setting will suit this gemstone?

The builder presents settings intended to work with the gemstone you have selected.

Before production begins, the pairing is reviewed for proportion, security and suitability.

If we believe another setting, proportion or approach would serve the stone better, we will tell you before anything is made. The setting should serve the gemstone — not simply accommodate it.

What happens after I choose my gemstone and setting?

We confirm the important details with you before production begins.

That includes your gemstone, setting, metal, side stones where relevant, size, engraving and any personal details.

Nothing enters production until the final specification has been reviewed and approved.

Will I see the finished piece before it is sent?

Yes.

Once your piece is complete, it is photographed and filmed with your gemstone set into it.

Those images are sent to you before dispatch, so you can see the finished jewel before it leaves SARATTI.

How long will my piece take?

Made-to-order pieces generally require around three to four weeks from final approval to completion.

A loose gemstone purchased on its own can usually be prepared for dispatch much sooner.

If you are working towards a proposal, anniversary, birthday or travel date, tell us before ordering. We will let you know what is realistically possible rather than promise a date we cannot honour.

How will my order be delivered?

Your order is sent by insured courier with tracking and appropriate delivery security.

The route and carrier depend on destination and value.

Where duties or local taxes may apply, our concierge can explain the available delivery options before dispatch.

Can I return a loose gemstone?

A loose gemstone may be returned within fourteen days of delivery provided it remains unworn, unset and unaltered, with its packaging and documentation intact.

Please contact us before sending anything back so the return can be arranged securely.

What happens once the gemstone has been set?

A jewel created around your selected gemstone is made specifically for you.

Once the final specification has been approved and production has begun, the gemstone and materials are committed to your piece.

That is why we take time to confirm the details with you before making begins.

What if I am still unsure?

Then do not rush the decision.

We can help you compare this gemstone with another, look again at color or proportion, send additional imagery, discuss a setting or simply talk through what matters most to you.

The right stone should feel considered — not hurried.

What happens after I receive my piece?

Our relationship does not end at delivery.

SARATTI provides ongoing care for the jewelry we create, including inspection, cleaning and appropriate maintenance support as the piece is worn over time.

If anything ever concerns you, speak with us before attempting repair or alteration elsewhere.
